The Southeast quadrant of Tallahassee is home to a diverse population with its growth driven by the ongoing development of Southwood and the presence of the city's primary shopping district surrounding the Governor's Square Mall and along Apalachee Parkway. Due to the presence of quality employment opportunities along with excellent retail and restaurant venues, this area has emerged as one of the city's most desirable destinations for living. As a result there is an uptick in residential development, both single family and quality multi-family communities for general population (non-student oriented) and senior-assisted living.
