Description: Proposed for 11.28 acres on the northwest corner of Ocala Road and West Pensacola Street, the project is the addition of approximately 40,275 square feet of retail and restaurants (including two drive-thru restaurants) along Ocala Road and West Pensacola Street. The property is zoned PUD 114 (University Village PUD) and is located within the MMTD (Multi-Modal Transportation District). The developer is currently offering 8 spaces ranging in size from 1,264 square feet to 8,021 SF. Dunkin Donuts / Baskin Robbins is slated to become a tenant in a stand-alone facility north of the main building. There is also a proposed Palm Beach Tan for 3,195 SF of the facility.
As far as re-doing the existing shopping center, is there something recent? I thought the original idea was just a "feeler" and they had never got enough interest to go forward. There was a lot of proposed retail a few years back but I think much was put on hold with the lack of interest at the college town retail price level. I'd be curious as to what is new with this, if anything.
I also think the Chick Fil A was old news and may not be happening on that site any more. As for the old Po Boys I think that's going to be a future Hungry Howies stand alone moving out of the University Village plaza.
